Are You In Need of an Ac Repair?

While facing any type of surprise bill can be a harsh reality the good news is that an AC repair means less than a replacement. If you are unsure about whether or not you need a repair, there are a few things that may be signs that the system needs a checkup.

AC Is Blowing Warm Air or No Air at All
Obviously, the whole point of the air conditioner is to keep you cool. If the system is not cooling as much as normal or blowing hot air, this is an indication that something isn’t working properly.  There are different things that can happen to cause this so you will want to get it checked as soon as possible.

Another issue that may occur is little to no air coming through the vents indicating that there could be a blockage or something else causing the system to not work properly.

AC Smells Bad When In Use
One very distinct indication that you are in need of Ac repair is when the system smells while on. There should never be a foul smell when working properly. The odor could indicate a wiring issue, mold or other serious causes that could be harmful to you if not taken care of.

Leaking or Running Constantly
If you notice that the system is kicking on more often or even staying on continuously, this is a sign that you need to have it looked at as soon as possible. If you notice that that moisture is leaking around the system it could mean that there is a refrigerant link. This can be deadly since Freon is poisonous so always allow a professional to confirm and address this issue.  When the air conditioner continues to kick on or stay on it will cause your energy to bill to increase drastically. A working system should only be kicking on periodically to cool the area back down to a certain temperature and will remain off until needed again.

Be Informed
The best recourse to keep the Ac repair costs affordable and the system running longer is to have regular maintenance done. This keeps the system, free of dust and debris and catching minor issues before they turn into major issues.
